EXO's 으르렁

I love EXO gifs. ;D
Practically, Thank You to whoever started making the first .gifs.

I know that EXO's album and their repackaged album has been out for a while now and they've finished promoting it *sad inside*, but it doesn't hurt to write/ talk about it. Let's keep that flame alive fellow EXOtics! (I don't even think they have an official fan name yet, but me likes this one)
Actually, I began writing this post like around two months ago, but didn't really get time to post it. =')

This might take a while.

Ok, so let's talk Mvs.
There's two: one released on 15th July 2013 and the second released 20th August 2013.
으르렁
(Korean Ver; Chinese Ver.)

Seriously, when I first saw the first music video...Man, I loved it!
I love the fact that it's done in one shot *sings BAP's One Shot*. That way you can see them as performers, rather than just them normal types of music videos. There's the weekly shows like M!Countdown and stuff, but the two are different. It's fresh. It's cool. Seriously, it's simple yet I bet most EXO fans out there loved it especially since we get close up views of some of the members in a one motion kinda way. It's like...We're there with them in the video and they're like: "Come here, watch us do our smooth and cool dance moves" *in Kris' Canadian accent, Lay&Tao's Chinese accent and the others' Engrish in a suave accent*
It's hard getting a good screenshot without their face scrunched up since they're lip-synching.
^ Kris' face though.

The setting of video is a bit weird, but i'm guessing there may be some sort of relevance to it if you link it with the Drama version of their previous Mv:
^ Wolf Drama video (K-ver.) Clicky to watch...if you want.

Although, the Drama version of Wolf made me cringe slightly, I actually felt as if they were them 'cute and cool' guys in an 'Asian' High School (High Schools over here are rather different). Danggit, my Asian radar would so totally pin point them out. Ok, I know looks isn't everything, but let's just talk about Mv's sake. The screenshot I took above, reminded me a little bit of how they show an overview of the group then zooms in...Like Fast and Furious kinda shot, if you get what I mean. I have the temptation to 'hashtag swag' but no-just no.
We've yet to be given the next Drama follow up, but I guess that's SM's way of keeping us waiting in agony excitement. At least they're not just giving us a box with lights-BUT the exception of Growl which works perfectly.

On the other hand, we have the second version of EXO's Growl. Even thought I loved the first version, which really helped me learn the dance quick, I also fangirled over the second one. Their individual shots are just...ARGH! The set is the usual box standard that SM does, but that didn't really bother me much since we can just admire the members more. Actually, the set was alright. As soon as I watched the Mv, I took screenshots on my iPad and sent them to some friends, HaHa. I know it sounds sad, but we're not gonna be a 'youth' forever are we? Might as well appreciate stuff like this while we can, but mind you even in my 30s I'd still be like "Go KPOP!". =') Can you guys tell, I want an Asian guy or somewhat someone who appreciates Asian culture? ;)
You could say that the first music video felt more different whereas the second version was a lot more typical of SM. From one of the radio shows (or was it a variety show?), apparently they didn't initially plan to do the first music video as a one shot style. They just took a video of one of their casual dance rehearsals, spinning the camera and doing close ups and then they thought that it wasn't a bad idea to try and do an Mv like it.

Swiftly on, lets talk outfits/wardrobe
Since they're pretty much eye-candy(<-What KPop kinda is a lot of the time), I'll just add a good amount of pictures, to 'jazz' up this post. Who objects? ;)
For version one, each member is dressed in a school boy fashion. It goes with their theme of "First Class'.

Let me tell you, my High School outfit wasn't like theirs, rather my blazer was way too big for me since my parents thought I'd grow a lot more...
Grey suits.
Man, they 'suit' them.
I do think they're going for the varied 'rebel'-yet-still-level-Asian-look with their unbuttoned shirts, bowties, sneakers, etc. Just like the music video, they're not wearing flashy outfits, rather outfits that flaunt their looks/personality effortlessly.
Furthermore, we have the second version. This time, they wear a sort of (danggit, the word just slipped my mind) belted/braces fashion. I actually like it in a way. I remember first seeing it in the KPop scene, when Victoria Unnie wore it for one of their Rum Pum Pum Pum stages. Apart from the fact that her's looked awkward, I still like the look, hence I prefer EXO's-something I'd actually wear.

In terms of the visual, we now look at the dance.
What can I say? It's so...awesome
The moves are smooth, swift and also suave. (Hey hey hey, alliteration) They don't have to be doing some flips and stuff. It all works together.
In my opinion, je dirais que the choreography actually played a big role in the success of EXO's promotions this time. As soon as I saw the dance moves, I knew for definite that I had to learn the choreography therefore, I have! The fact that I know the whole song, makes me feel rather proud of myself actually. I can't wait to film it with my crew. ;D
I'd love to go through the dance moves in detail, but I think AKP did a good job with their review of the choreography.
I'll leave it to that for the dance. So I've gathered up some gifs that I've found on fanpop which represent some of my favourite moves from Growl:
Yeah, that's how I roll.
This part makes me feel badass, as well as hurting my knees a little but you get used to it.
A sneaky one.

Kris: Watch me be cool.

BAM.

LayChaChaCha.

I so have the temptation to put even more gifs...But I shall save them for later uses.
And so finally, the songs!

I'm more familiar with the repackaged album thus I shall be talking based on that.
From watching the Naver Starcast with EXO, they showed us a quick glimpse of their repackaged album. If you haven't (which I pretty sure most you already have), then watch it here on Youtube. But like me, who unfortunately cannot understand Korean (apart from certain phrases and words, but I can read Hangul), here's the English sub version.
